We are extremely happy to announce that the AIRWAVE modular seating collection has received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2022. The collection is designed by Charles Godbout and exclusively manufactured by us. The Good Design Award was founded in Chicago in 1950 by Edgar Kaufmann, Jr, along with Charles and Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson, and Eero Saarinen. Good Design program was and still is an annual tribute to the achievements of the world’s best industrial and graphic designers and manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary excellence in design. The Athenaeum of Chicago has been involved in organizing the program for more than seven decades to create awareness about contemporary design by rewarding products that have set new directions for innovation.

How the AirWave collection came about: 

AirWave is an example of this willingness to find solutions tailored to specific market needs. When we asked Charles to design a new product for the airport sector, he used his industry knowledge to create a collection of waiting seats. The seats with performance features that respect user privacy and airport layout standards (increased seating density in waiting areas). The shape of the high and low backrests allows the combination of sinusoidal curves to create a wide range of personal and collective space configurations. Alternating the two sides of the seats helps to optimize floor space and provide privacy for users. Combining comfort, style and versatility, the AIRWAVE collection has established itself on the international stage.
