In 2019, Altek Italia Design had the honor of contributing to the urban furnishing project for the outdoor area at the College of New Mexico in Santa Fe, NM, USA. This project involved the installation of benches from the Garda collection with backrests, a distinctive element to enhance the college’s outdoor areas.

Our Garda Collection

The Garda collection represents one of Altek’s finest developments specifically for the urban furnishing sector, crafted from aluminum and entirely 100% recyclable. This material not only ensures long-lasting durability and strong resistance to weather conditions but is also developed with environmental sustainability in mind, reducing the ecological footprint. The slats of the Garda benches are made from Resysta wood, an innovative and recyclable material that mimics the look and feel of natural wood. Resysta is extremely resistant to water and UV rays, ensuring that the benches maintain their appearance and functionality over time without breaking or deteriorating.

Customization and Functionality

For the project at the College of New Mexico, the Garda benches were customized with skate stoppers. These devices were installed to prevent misuse of the benches by skateboarders, ensuring that the urban furnishings remain in excellent condition and that the benches can be properly used by the college’s students and staff.
