A nice project for the Municipality of Lockport, IL-USA. The Sole benches are made with a structure in galvanized metal polyester powder coated for outdoor use with slats in Resysta material. The Resysta material is made out of a mixture of rice husks, common salt and mineral oil and it gives the appearance and feel of wood while offering better durability. Thus, the use of this material doesn’t contribute to deforestation. This makes Resysta very sustainable.

As part of the redevelopment of the urban area, the municipality of Lockport, Illinois, sister city of the Asiago town (in the center of the famous mountain plateau) selected our Sole benches, customized with a special aluminium plaque showing the dates of establishment of the two cities Lockport_1830 and Asiago_1310. It was very interesting to discover that many inhabitants of this Illinois town have surnames of Italian origin. There is still a strong, very active community that wants to keep alive relations with its Italian origins. Asiago and Lockport have signed a twinning. This twinning aims to bring together the many families descent from the Asiago plateau, now residing in Lockport. Lockport is in the center of the State of Illinois, located about 100 kilometers from Chicago.
